Swiss Green Roof Tour 2010

Due to a number of circumstances we have had to change the dates of the green roof tour of Switzerland. This popular tour dates have now been changed to 10th/11th June. Any one has already applied for the green roof tour will have been informed by the adminstrators in Switzerland.

In its sixth year Livingroofs.org Ltd will be again partnering with the Hochschule Wadensvil for the famous Swiss green roof tour.

First undertaking in 2004, part funded by Sarnafil Ltd and the UK + CH partnership the tours have proved popular with designers, architects, developers and consultants working on green roof projects throughout the world.

The tour visits a whole range of different extensive green roofs, including the world famous Moos Filtration Plant and Peter Vetsch's green roof 'cave' houses, in Dietikon.

Peter Vetsch's green roof 'cave' houses, in Dietikon.Much of the focus of the tour is how research in Switzerland has developed an approach to green roofing that has biodiversity at the heart of their design. From roofs designed for lizards, to those that have been designed for rare bees, beetles and spiders, this year the tour includes visits to roofs where Swiss researchers are studying ground nesting birds.

The two day tour includes an overnight stay in the heart of Switzerland in a hotel with splendid views of the Alps.

The tour costs include all food, travel and accommodation within Switzerland.

The tour Dr. Stephan Brenneisen, is accompanied by Dusty Gedge, Director of Livingroofs.org. Both are internationally recognised for their work on green roofs and biodiversity.
