WWF adds a Green Top

World Wildlife Fund (WWF) have transformed their building in Washington DC and taken up the 'green' challenge by creating an extensive green roof.  The new green roof is the third largest in Washington and follows in the footsteps of other NGO's in the capital, such as ASLA, whose green roof is now relatively well known.

American Fire Guidelines for green roofs - US/CA

The Single Ply Roofing Industry [SPRI] and GRHC have published guidance on green roofs and fire. The guidelines cover a range of themes including Ballast, Border zone, Firestops,  Gravel stops, Growing media, Parapet and Vegetative roofing systems.

There is a review of various planting options for green roofs including both succulents and grasses.

The guideline makes ample use of the current German Guidelines for green roofs and is an excellent addition to green roof knowledge.
