Nigel Dunnett's excellent New Wild Garden won a silver gilt at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show this year. We at Livingroofs would like to congratulate Nigel on this achievement and GreenRoofShelter's for their innovative new Home Office Shipping container. This was a central feature of the garden.

The garden was sponsored by the Royal Bank of Canada and was a marvel of habitat walls for bees and a planting regime for pollinators. This focus on wildlife and pollinators is in keeping with our mission to ensure that green roofs are designed for biodiversity as well as all the other sustainable benefits green roofs can provide to urban areas.

The Flower show was also an opportunity to get three of the authors of the new Small Green Roofs - Low Impact solutions for green living' published by timberpress together for a photocall. Unfortunately Ed Snodgrass couldn't make it over from the US but it is hoped that all four authors will get together later in the year for a full photcall. The book is a celebration of the small - whether it be a shed, an outhouse or an extension. It should be an inspiration for people, who are keen to do something in their garden or on their home, An important book that addresses the increasing interest in green roofs by the public.
So full marks to Nigel for the Silver Gilt and all the authors.
Congratulations to all involved.
