He is co-author of Building Greener, published by CIRIA and the main author of the London Living roofs and Technical Report. This report supported the development of the first UK policy for green roofs in London.
Dusty is passionate about the need for vegetation, soil and ecology being an important element in the Urban Environment and the talk will focus on the need for a radical approach to the urban realm - a move away from a hard engineering grey infrastructure approach to a more holistic ecosystem services approach. The talk of course will also highlight the need for biodiversity to be taken seriously when design cities and adapting urban areas to climate change.
