Details of Green Roof Element |
Build – Consisted of insulation over the waterproofing which was overlaid with a filter fabric. The substrate consisted of crushed brick and concrete with aggregate size of 75 mm down to dust. The aggregate was placed in varying thicknesses from 75 mm to 100 mm and was mixed with soil and sand as well as bark. Bare sand lenses have been left to aid the colonization by invertebrates, particularly bees. Additional features such as rocks and decaying logs were included to promote species diversity. |
