Type of Development |
Southside House was in part a renovation project, creating a green roof surrounded by stylish and spacious offices occupied by various companies, organisations and the government - including the Lord Chancellors Department at The Court Service. |
|
Reason for Green Roof |
The green roof was chosen mainly for aesthetic purposes. Offices surround a lightwell, with the green roof at the surface, so it had to be aesthetically pleasing. |
|
Type of Roof |
A TPO Flagon EP/PRF Ochre Yellow & Optigreen Lightweight System, a lightweight solution required to lightwells. |

Details of Green Roof Element |
Southside is a landmark Victoria building providing a total of 113,178 sq ft of office accommodation over eight floors. The building has for some time been offices and the green roof was purely for decorative purposes. There is no public access to the courtyard as it comes straight off the fourth floor offices. Floors six, seven and eight are let to Transport for London and Beresford Blake Thomas. Such a prestigious building required maximum attention to detail, and the Optigreen roof came into that category. |
